Quality

CEN Regulations

All BBGR lenses, coated or not, meet the requirements defined in the European Standards.

The CE marking is now applied to all BBGR lens packets and guarantees that the lenses comply to the relevant CEN regulations.

The European Standards were conceived to guarantee the wearer visual quality as well as a performance level and lens security. The CE directives mean responsibility for us the manufacturer, as well as for you the optical professional.

Obligation to inform the wearer of usage and restrictions of their lenses

Lenses unsuitable for driving
Lenses are deemed to be unsuitable for driving when:

  • Light transmission is less than 8% for daytime driving
  • Light transmission is less than 75% for night driving
  • The tint affects the recognition of traffic lights*

Lenses that leave distance vision uncorrected are not suitable for activities that require distance vision (example "mid distance" lenses for presbyopes).

Obligation to inform-about which category his/her lenses fall into and the usage and restrictions applying to the lenses
