TiliumŪ polycarbonate Polarised
Extension to the polarised range of lenses: The Solution for Outdoor Activities
Conventional sunglass lenses offer little protection against glare even though they reduce visible light. TiliumŪ Polarised lenses control glare by absorbing light which is scattered in all but one direction which is the vertical plane.
BBGR now offers TiliumŪ polarised lenses in spherical single vision and Evolis progressive lenses both in brown or grey.
Material Performances: Extra Flat, Extra Thin, Extra Safe
For comfortable vision on sunny days, sunglasses should give protection against 75 to 90% of visible light. Solarium does just that with a pleasing brown class 3 tint giving 15% light transmission. The sunglass lens is made particularly attractive by an anti-reflection coating which has a residual green bloom on the reverse side of the lens. The front surface has a flashed silver coating giving the lens a highly fashionable mirror effect.

Due to our state of the art technology, there is no delamination risk and the polarising mechanism is compatible with low centre thicknesses (1.3 mm).
Polarisation Principle
As natural light travels it is scattered. When a polarising film obstructs the light's path a change occurs so that the emerging polarised light travels in only one axis, in the vertical plane. The polarised film is positioned between two layers of the TiliumŪ polycarbonate lens substrate.
Polarisation alone does not offer UV protection but by being available in TiliumŪ polycarbonate material guarantees the wearer total UV protection.

TiliumŪ Polarising is particularly beneficial in the following circumstances:
- Driving - to reduce any glare or reflections from a wet road or windscreen
- Suitable for outdoor pursuits especially those associated with water because TiliumŪ Polarising lenses vastly reduce reflections from the water's surface (fishing, water skiing, sailing), rambling on uneven surfaces in bright conditions or snow activities
- When colour perception and contrast are important
TiliumŪ Polarising lenses are quite simply the best and most comfortable sun filter and are highly recommended for light sensitive eyes.
